In this work a survey on the universal completion of Archimedean Riesz spaces is given. In this context, we give several constructions for the existence of universal completion for every Archimedean Riesz space. These constructions are due to F. Maeda and T. Ogasawara, Aliprantis and Burkinshaw, Zaanen and Gerard Buskes and Arnoud Van Rooij.
